Here is where we are now....Michele, and I went to see the Reproductive Doctor for our first visit back in January. We sat down and talked to him for about a half hour or so and did a history so he had an idea of what I had been through with my pregnancies and what kind of problem she had carrying a child. He seems to be a very understanding person. I had an ultrasound done and a mock transfer to make sure I could have a transfer done. I must say I was very scared and nervous tho. I was scared because this is my first time being a surrogate and nervous because I want everything to go smoothly for everyone involved. I didn't realize how expense this whole procedure was till Michele and I were leaving the doctor's office that day and they handed her a bill for almost $600. Wow! Boy am I in the wrong field! LOL! My health insurance at work didn't kick in till Febuary 1st so I had to wait till then to have all the blood work done. In the end they came back fine as did Michele and Alan's also. We went back to see the RE again last month after the test results were in and were told now we had to wait till Michele ovulated so they would have an idea of when the egg retrivale and transfer would be. Michele ovulated the begining of this month!! Yeah! I went into see the RE while my best friend went in for a follow up appointment. Lynn there handed me a calender and explained everything to me about how and when things would happen for us now. WOW! There's a bunch of meds to take and a couple ultrasounds that have to be done before the transfer can be done. We are now looking at the week of April 19th for the transfer. Knowing this has put my mind at easy a little just because now it seems more real, like yeah this is really happening for us. What once seemed like a dream to me is now becoming a reality. I'm still a little nervous tho I must say but I think it's just because I want this to happen the first time around so that Michele and Alan aren't going to have to pay for another transfer.
